Jazz vocalist Natalia Farran in conversation with international jazz stars. Featuring a wide array of jazz, from classic jazz to Latin, from symphonic to far out!
Tune in for cool jazz and hot interviews... the perfect soundtrack for your Sunday evenings.
FIRST SHOW - with special guest Simon Spillett
Natalia talks to award-winning tenor sax sensation and author Simon Spillett. This program is dedicated to jazz vocalists and features the extraordinary talent of Blossom Dearie, Anita O'Day, Julie London, Nat Cole, Salena Jones and Astrud Gilberto, amongst many others. Simon and Natalia discuss lyrics, the art of good delivery and diction, why vocalists have the most delicate of instruments and are never "just singers', and have a little rant about mobile phone overuse at live music events and the evils of YouTube! Jazz anecdotes aplenty and fantastic tunes. All this, plus some beatnik philosophy, a barking dog and a very loud passing motorbike below the radio studio. George Crockford produces and puts some order into the proceedings.
